Jamjar Diner is one of the most Instagrammable restaurants we have come across in Mumbai. Don’t let the name fool you (Jar Jar Binks anyone?), this place is super chic and cool and very well decorated. We went to the Andheri East diner and it was filled with crazy decorations like pastel-coloured slanted cabinets and wine racks surrounding a jukebox which is straight out of some abstract dream. There are two floors and it isn’t very spacious but it’s done up so cozily that you won’t really notice it.

We started with a chilled bottle of Kingfisher ultra and a delicious peach tea along with some Eggs Florentine Toast. The eggs were beautifully poached, sitting on a bed of creamed spinach and mushrooms on a perfectly crispy slice of toast. It was a perfect light start to our lunch.

We were craving some bacon (we don’t usually have bacon) so we ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza. The pizza was more than enough for two people and was filled with smoky bacon, ranch sauce, and pickles. The chicken was in the form of little fried balls which seems a little odd on a pizza but it went well with the quirks surrounding us.

Jamjar Diner is a must-do place in Bombay for a glimpse into some crazy creativity and aesthetic as well as some nice food. The service was good and the food was comforting and wholesome. The bill came to around Rs. 2,500 for two people. Will definitely go back and will check out their other outlet in Bandra as well. Stay tuned!
